HISTORY

Forest Coffee sources seasonal cherries from families across Tolima, Huila, and Caldas, processing them at El Vergel Estate. Founded in 2019, the network now supports over 250 Colombian coffee-growing families, connecting producers with global roasters through innovation and sustainability.

PROCESS

Ripe cherries undergo 24h pre-fermentation, 24h in-cherry fermentation, then 5 days of anaerobic fermentation with selected yeast and natural strawberry flavours. After 10 days of mechanical drying, the coffee is EA Sugarcane Decaffeinated using naturally derived ethyl acetate from Colombian sugarcane, preserving sweetness and fruit character.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What brew method is best for Golden Hour Decaf?

We strongly recommend pour-over methods such as V60, Origami, or French Press to highlight its lush tropical fruit sweetness and candy cane notes.

Q2: How is this coffee decaffeinated?

It undergoes natural EA Sugarcane Decaffeination using ethyl acetate derived from Colombian sugarcane, removing 99.9% of caffeine while preserving intense natural fruit sweetness.

Q3: How fresh is the roast upon delivery?

All beans are small-batch roasted weekly in Melbourne and shipped within days of roasting to ensure peak aromatic freshness.

Q4: How should I store whole bean coffee?

Keep the beans sealed in their original valved bag in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. After 1 week of degassing post-roast, storing sealed bags in the freezer is recommended to preserve peak freshness and flavor for up to 1 year.
